Underground Church

There has been an underground assembly of believers in Yahusha somewhere since right after He resurrected. In the west, during my lifetime, we have  heard about the underground church in China and N. Korea. But with the current anti faith sentiment around the world, we are likely to see underground believers in every region over the earth.

Right now Christian faith leaders are reporting a surge in the number of believers.  From nearly every denomination,  and in many different countries, people are coming to faith in Yahusha/Jesus. This is encouraging indeed. At the same time, persecution and martyrdom against those who have faith in Yahusha/Jesus has also surged.

  • In 2024, ten anti-abortion activists were sentenced to Federal prison for praying in front of a Washington DC abortion clinic
  • Also in 2024, Adam Smith Connor, a British Army vet was convicted of praying near an abortion clinic.
  • 2023-2025 Isbel Vaughan Spruce was arrested twice for silent prayer in the United Kingdom.
  • 2025 in the US. Matthew Connolly was sentenced to jail for silent prayer.
  • 2025 Five faith leaders were arrested for praying inside the US Capitol Rotunda.
  • 2018 Nine people were arrested for praying on the steps of the Supreme Court Building.

With research I discovered that over the years people have been imprisoned in 77 countries for their religious beliefs. Open Doors International reports that over 4,700 Christians were arrested and imprisoned in 2025 for their faith in Yahusha/Jesus. Some reports claim that tens of thousands of followers of Yahusha/Jesus are held in North Korea prison camps, and over 1,000 are detained in Eritrea. Around 4,700 Christians were detained or sentenced in 2025 to the current date of  April 2026. Over 388 million Christians experience persecution and discrimination according to the reports from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2025. Open Doors International tells us 3,302 followers of Yahusha/Jesus were abducted, 5202 were raped, sexually harassed, or forcibly married to non-Christians. Thirteen Christians are killed daily for their faith somewhere over the world. I periodically communicate with a believer in Pakistan for prayer, and she recently ask for prayer concerning the forced marriages and conversions.

Recently, Ben Shapiro, a well known media voice,  mentioned the 7 Noahide Laws. If you're not familiar with this term, do your research.  Several countries,  including the US, have legal documentation regarding these laws. On the surface many believers would find them acceptable, the ten commandments are part of this set of laws. But, what you don't see on the surface is that faith in Yahusha/Jesus is considered blasphemy and punishable by death, not any death, no! Decapitation is the method to bring about this death. References at the bottom. But please educate yourself on this subject.

Will the Underground Church be in your future? Will you need to go into hiding to worship your Savior?

A work in progress
